The partnership is oriented toward closing the gap between evidence-based health and safety knowledge and the firefighters who need it most
CRACKYL Media Inc. is proud to announce a strategic partnership with the Health & Safety Leadership Alliance (HSLA), a non-profit dedicated to advancing health, safety, and workforce outcomes for first responders through evidence-based education, system alignment, and multidisciplinary leadership. CRACKYL joins HSLA as its founding media partner. In connection with this collaboration, Kory Pearn, Founder, Publisher, and Editor-in-Chief of CRACKYL, has been appointed to the HSLA Advisory Council, where he will serve as Public Safety Health Communications Advisor.
The partnership addresses a challenge both organizations know well: a significant gap exists between the clinical, risk management, and occupational health research that supports first responder well-being and the practical, accessible information that actually reaches firefighters on the job. CRACKYL’s platform, which reaches more than 100,000 firefighters, public safety professionals, and industry stakeholders across North America through print, digital, social media, a mobile app, and events, gives HSLA a direct channel to the men and women in the station, not just department leadership.

Pearn brings more than two decades of experience in firefighter wellness advocacy, public safety communications, media strategy, workforce culture, and industry leadership. Under his direction, CRACKYL has grown into one of North America’s leading firefighter health and lifestyle media platforms. The publication structures its content across four distinct audience segments: department administration and chiefs, ranking officers and leadership, line firefighters navigating peer situations, and firefighters managing the impact on their families and lifestyle, ensuring that health and safety information is framed for the person who needs it, not just the person who sets policy.
The Health & Safety Leadership Alliance serves as an access, alignment, and integration platform. It connects first responders, agency leaders, clinicians, risk managers, and insurers around evidence-based education, practical workforce health solutions, and system coordination across occupational health and workers’ compensation. HSLA’s reach extends across workers’ compensation, risk management, and public safety conferences nationally, as well as through a growing international network.

The collaboration is designed to grow over time, shaped by the needs of the fire service community both organizations serve.
