CRACKYL runs on voices from inside the fire service — and the experts who serve it. If you have a story, a specialty, or a camera roll full of station life, we want to hear from you.

Photos

We’re always looking for original photos of firefighters being firefighters — on shift and off. Station life, training, workouts, travel, family, the golf course, the BBQ. Your shot could run in the magazine or on the site.

  • Resolution: 300 dpi — enough for a print size of roughly 8 × 10 inches.
  • Format: high-resolution JPEG (RGB or CMYK).
  • Submission: email your photos to editor@crackylbusinessmedia.com.

Story pitches

CRACKYL Magazine and CRACKYL.com publish lifestyle and wellness content created by and for firefighters and their families — health, finance, relationships, stress, fitness, and everything in between. The tone is positive, authentic, and solutions-focused; the writing is smart, clear, and worth a firefighter’s off-shift time.

  • Length: 800–1,000 words for print — flexible, and online pieces can run shorter.
  • Spelling: U.S. spelling, please — CRACKYL is distributed internationally.
  • Fact-checking: every story is fact-checked, and writers supply the source material for verification.

How to pitch

Email a brief outline — about 150 words — that shows the focus of your proposed piece, along with a short bio, to editor@crackylbusinessmedia.com.

Pitches only, please: we can’t review unsolicited full articles. If your idea fits, we’ll work with you on how to develop it.

Not a writer, but lived a great story? Tell us anyway — we’re happy to pair you with a writer and get it told.

If you have photographs that belong with your story, include them — just make sure they’re properly sourced, so there are no copyright surprises.
